Auburn 5-star wide receiver commit Cam Coleman’s key touchdown assist leads squad to state title

TUSCALOOSA, ALBERTA – Turnovers and a defensive slugfest propelled the Thompson Warriors and Central-Phenix City Red Devils to the Alabama 7A state championship game. The 5-star then made a 5-star play that changed the game.

Cam Coleman, who had just committed to Auburn, had caught four passes for 70 yards up until that point in the fourth quarter. His crew, however, required one more. Coleman received a short throw inside before turning up the field and outside for a 73-yard touchdown. Central took a 21-13 lead and held on to win 21-19.

”It was just — I got the ball, I looked across the field and saw green grass,” he said. ”Green means go,” Coleman explained. ”I just took off, and bless the Lord, I scored.
