Nebraska tight end Jake Appleget enters transfer portal
The redshirt freshman tight end appeared in six games last season.
Nebraska reserve tight end Jake Appleget entered the transfer portal on Monday morning per a source, becoming the first Husker scholarship player to enter the portal after it opened officially on Monday morning.
Appleget, a product of Lincoln Southeast, was part of Nebraska’s 2022 recruiting class, initially joining the program on the defensive side of the ball.
Appleget, who also started on offense at Lincoln Southeast, moved to the offensive side of the ball in the spring. Appleget appeared in six games this season for the Huskers as a redshirt freshman.
The 6-foot-4, 235-pound tight end will have three seasons of eligibility remaining at his next stop.
