Green Bay Packers Quarterback Extension Major Update
The Pro Star might be the Green Bay Packers’ next franchise quarterback. Jordan Love has made huge improvements in the last month of football and demonstrated that he is on the correct track for this franchise.
Jordan Love is fifth in Pro Football Focus’ league-wide passing grade, fifth in Big Time Throws, fifth in yards per attempt, sixth in adjusted completion %, and fourth in first downs over the last four weeks, according to Ross Uglem.
Jordan Love has an 87.4 passer rating, 2,599 passing yards, 19 touchdowns, and 10 interceptions through 11 games in 2023. Could Love have already earned his next Packers contract?
What Does This Mean for the Future?
The NFL will conduct free agency and the NFL draft from March to April 2024. Franchises can exercise a fifth-year option on players selected in the first round of the 2021 NFL draft in May. This month is also when rookie minicamps and the spring league meeting take place.
During this time, the team will have the first opportunity to sign Love to a long-term contract. The Packers and Love will not reach a long-term agreement until months after the 2023-24 season concludes.
