Newcastle United fans will appreciate what Kieran Trippier did following Arsenal’s victory.

Newcastle United made it four Premier League wins and clean sheets in a row at St James’ Park.

After Dan Burn’s back injury forced Kieran Trippier to rotate to left-back at halftime, Newcastle triumphed 1-0 courtesy to Anthony Gordon’s second-half score.

Newcastle is sixth in the Premier League table after 11 games, with Eddie Howe’s team going seven games undefeated in the league ahead of Tuesday night’s Champions League showdown against Borussia Dortmund.

And the Magpies’ vice captain was eager to dissect Saturday’s victory, with his wife Charlotte posting a video of Trippier watching the 1-0 triumph over Arsenal on Sunday on television with the caption: “No days off for KT.” I’m rewatching last night’s game for the second time. #grafter #achievement.”

Trippier has been a constant in the Newcastle lineup since the start of last season, missing only one game – the 1-0 Carabao Cup triumph against Manchester City in September. England’s right-back has seven assists in 15 games this season in all competitions.

The 33-year-old was Newcastle’s first acquisition under Eddie Howe, joining for £12 million from Atletico Madrid in January 2022. Trippier has subsequently appeared in 68 games for the club, scoring three goals.

Newcastle has risen from the Premier League relegation zone to compete in Europe’s best competition, the Champions League, in that period.
